Call for Submissions: Plantae

DEADLINE EXTENDED: New deadline April 19, 2020

Good Sport is seeking submissions of artworks that consider plants and our relationships with them for a group exhibition. The intersection of plants and visual culture is multifaceted and embodies many themes and histories; how do plants exist as and in culture, metaphor, symbolism, resource, narrative? How are plants seen; as background information, as spectacle? As resilient, as fragile? Where do plants exist within self care and collective care, within activism and escapism? What power do plants hold? What histories do they tell?
Are plants sentient; what or how do plants feel?
How are plants interwoven with other life forms? With empathy?

These are just some prompts to get you started – any work exploring plants is welcome for consideration.
