“Ask Again Later, my first solo exhibition, features five deeply personal new works. I’m reaching back to the past, grabbing at the childhood toys and games that I would use to predict my future, in the hope that they can point me forward now.

Can a paper fortune teller help me understand what an RRSP is? Can my 2002 Timex Mystery Answer Digital Watch tell me if I should risk my savings on more school? Can a game of M.A.S.H tell me how I’m going to die? Ask Again Later.”

Sammy Orlowski is an award-winning cartoonist and zinemaker currently based in London, Ontario. She is interested in both the poignant and the (seemingly) pointless, drawn repeatedly to subjects from self-compassion and queer joy to early 2000s internet nostalgia and meme culture. Her wide-ranging artistic interests convene in a goal to capture, remix, and explode out the absurdities of life by pairing dark humour with expressive, colourful cartooning.
